THE TRANSFORMATION PROJECT OF AN OLD COURTYARD MIX TRADITION AND INNOVATION FOR A UNIQUE RESULT
Building of agricultural origin, SM house consists of two spaces separated by a large garden. The historical design has influenced the innovative architectural style, while creating a unique fusion with bio ecological architecture. The wide open spaces are shaded by the wooded beams of the parapets, balconies and terraces.
The swimming pool, covered by a roof garden and fully enclosed on three sides by high precision glass walls, is an important element in the construction of the ‘private landscape’ within the property which is closed to the East and west by high walls. It is reminiscent of a modern cloister, rich in greenery with a mirror of water near close to the entrance of the living room, enhancing the reflection of natural light during the winter months.
The house will be built using the technology of fabricated structures, with natural materials for the insulators (cork, wood fiber, and cellulose) and for the finishing touches (lime, paints, wood treatments etc.) The geothermal heat pump will be powered by photovoltaic. While solar panels, and automation electrical home system completes the plant equipment.
