A PASSIVE BUILDING FOR A SCHOOL NEAR VARESE
The design for the Malnate competition is based on the principles of bioclimatic, bio-architectural and ecological sustainability, therefore the building and its systems need to be considered as a whole in relation to the external climate, aiming to ensure comfort while minimizing the amount non-renewable energy sources being used. The building therefore is shaped to sustain these needs. The building is characterized by an ‘L’ shaped plan, which is rather compact. It is situated according to the intersection of the roads and developed mainly along the east-west axis. The external walls of the main building are highlighted with a wooden covering while the classroom wing of the school is plastered
