House MZ Bologna

THIS SMALL ADDITION FEATURES A PREFABRICATED TIMBER STRUCTURE AND THE USE OF NATURAL MATERIALS.

The renovations being made on the house are focused on the two main needs of the clients; to use bio-ecological building materials and to expand the house without interfering with pine and wisteria trees in the close vicinity of the house.

The small wooden extension features a parallelepiped design. The previous structure had had an effect on the growth of the trees on both the ground floor level and first level. The changes allowed for a large window opening onto the garden, creating a close link between the internal and external areas, the living area, the study and the natural surrounding environment.

Externally, the renovated face of the house is defined by a plaster surface and the extension is in natural larch boards. The project does not hide the duality between the new and the preexisting structures.
